Zachary Dearth was diagnosed with Hunter Syndrome in the summer of 2005. In May of 2006, Making Precious Strides was incorporated in the state of New Jersey. Making Precious Strides, Inc. is the non-profit organization dedicated to raising awareness of Hunter Syndrome and contributing to national research initiatives for finding a cure.
Hunter Syndrome (Mucopolysaccharidosis II) is a life-threatening, genetic disease that effects the body's ability to break down mucopolysaccharides in joints and soft tissue leading to life-long complications. There is currently no cure for this disease but many research initiatives have been started to find a cure. We ask for your support in raising awareness and finding a cure.
